Itinerary

Arrive in Ulaanbaatar, the capital city of Mongolia. After clear customs and claim your luggage, you will be greeted by your private driver at the exit and then transfer you to your hotel. After check-in, free at leisure for the rest of the day to refresh yourself from jet lag.

In the morning at 9 am, head to “Genghis Khan Statue Complex” which is currently the biggest (40m high) equestrian statue in the world. You can go inside and enjoy the museums and souvenir shops. Take a short drive to visit Terelj National Park. This is one of the nearest and the most breathtaking sights from the capital Ulaanbaatar and the landscape is impressive with the magnificent rocky mountainous scene and a lucid river and green groves. In the afternoon, we will explore the national park and see Turtle Rock – the symbol of the National Park. You can take a photo of the rock and climb on the rock if you want. Also, visit the Ariyabal meditation temple - Once you reach the temple and stand on the top of the hill, you will be amused by the whole park view.

In the morning at 8:00 am, your private guide and driver pick you up and we will drive towards Tsagaan Suvarga, traveling across the expansive steppe of the Middle Gobi province. On the way we will have lunch at local good restaurant. Upon reaching the Ger camp, you will check in and relax at the cozy camp. Tsagaan Suvarga is a striking, multi-colored limestone formation, once part of an ancient seabed, and shaped over millions of years by unique sedimentary processes. In the evening, you can do hiking and taking photography of the beautiful panoramic views of Tsagaan suvarga.

After breakfast, we will begin our journey to Yol Valley, also known as Yolyn Am or Eagle Valley, located in the breathtaking Gobi Desert. Enroute, we will visit Dalanzadgad Museum where you will get interesting info regarding Gobi Desert and the province Once at the Yolyn Am, embark on a pleasant hike through the valley, making your way to the end of the gorge, where the icy landscape offers a striking contrast to the surrounding desert. While exploring, keep an eye out for wildlife such as eagles, wild sheep, ibex, and various birds of prey. The valley is also home to small rodents and other desert animals. After a fulfilling day in Yol Valley, we will take short drive to the tourist Ger camp nearby and have dinner.

Today, our adventure to the remarkable Khongor Sand Dunes will begin at 8:00 AM. We will arrive at the tourist camp around lunchtime, where you can relax and unwind in the cozy Ger camp, waiting for the temperature to cool down in the hot Gobi Desert. In the late afternoon, we will visit a local camel herder family in their Ger to learn about their unique lifestyle and culture. Afterward, enjoy a camel ride in one of the best spots for this traditional experience. Our next stop will be the beautiful green oasis of Seruun Bulag, located near the Khongor River and sand dunes. After exploring this scenic area, return to the camp for dinner and an overnight stay.

On this day, our trip will continue to Bayanzag, which means ‘rich in saxaul shrubs’, was once an ancient sea bed. This amazing place is more commonly known as ‘Flaming Cliffs’ and place where a lot of Paleontological findings have been discovered. American paleontologists led by Roy Chapman Andrew’s findings here proved to the world that dinosaurs laid eggs. We will explore around the area, including the saxual trees and wander on the red hillocks. There is a good chance to gaze at the billions of stars in the evening.

Today, we will head to the Gobi Desert and come around lunch time at Tourist camp. This bare steppe area along the Ongi River makes a good resting place to break a trip between Gobi Desert and Central Mongolian steppe. Ongi temple was once one of the biggest monasteries. But it is today small museum. Refresh at the ger camp and take a walk among the ruins and visit the reconstructed temple museum. If you want, you can have pleasant massage and sauna at the camp. Rest of the day is yours to relax on your own.

After breakfast, our excursion continues to Kharkhorin, where you'll gain deeper insights into Mongolia’s fascinating history. Begin your exploration of Kharkhorin with a visit to the Karakorum Museum, which offers a comprehensive look at the history of the Mongol Empire. The museum's collection of ancient artifacts will transport you back in time to the era when Kharkhorin was a bustling metropolis. Then, we’ll continue our tour to the stunning Erdenezuu Monastery, a majestic complex founded in the 16th century. You'll have the opportunity to explore the monastery's peaceful courtyards and observe the monks' daily rituals. Learn about the role of Buddhism in Mongolia’s history and culture. The remainder of the day is yours to relax and explore at your own pace.

After breakfast, we’ll embark on a scenic drive to Khorgo Terkh National Park a stunning area known for its volcanic landscapes and crystal-clear lake. En route, we'll stop for lunch in Tsetserleg, the charming capital of Arkhangai Province, nestled in the picturesque forested valley of the Khangai Mountains. We’ll continue our journey towards the Chuluut River Canyon, where you can admire the dramatic cliffs and the winding river below. This is a perfect spot for photography and relaxation. Upon arrival at Terkh White Lake, we’ll settle in at a comfortable tourist camp by the lakeshore. Enjoy the tranquility of the area, take in the stunning views, and relax as the sun sets. Tomorrow, we will explore and relax at the National Park, followed by a hike to the Khorgo Volcano, an extinct volcano that rises 2,240 meters (1.39 miles) above sea level.

After breakfast, we will drive towards to the Northern part of Mongolia Today we will visit to the local family and experience the nomad way of life in depth.

Following relaxing breakfast, take a 2 hours’ drive to the Khatgal village on the shore of the lake and visit the village market and main port of the lake. Upon arrival at tourist camp, we will explore the national park from horseback. Mongolia is the best destination for horse riding trip and especially Khuvsgul province is the best recommended place for this experience.

Enjoy delicious breakfast on the shore of the lake. This beautiful morning, we will meet reindeer herder family and explore their daily life. Plus, there are great opportunities to do hiking, climbing to the mountain or just enjoy wild nature to take photos. After lunch we will drive to Murun town for local good hotel stay.

In the morning, we will drive to Uran extinct volcano. This place is great for hiking and wildlife observation. Uran's highest point provides unobstructed, panoramic views of the volcanic fields, this area is a pretty good place to break the journey to Khuvsgul. After lunch drive to beautiful Bulgan town. In the evening, we will explore around the town and visit village market.

This morning, drive to the Hustai National Park, where world’s last wild horse (never domesticated), Takhi inhabit. Upon arrival at Hustai, visit small Ger information center - shows some detailed information about last truly wild horses. After enjoy lunch at the tourist camp, take a short drive and walking to see the horses in their natural habitat. There is a great opportunity to take photos for these endangered horses. You may be lucky to see fox, deer, roe deer, eagle, and more animals and birds.

In the morning, take a flight to Ulgii (~3 hours), the capital of Bayan-Ulgii, Mongolia’s westernmost province. After lunch in Ulgii town, we will take a drive to a local eagle hunter's family and golden eagle. Enjoy the afternoon with a hospitable host’s home learning about Kazakh traditions in depth, particularly about training Golden Eagles. You will stay and rest in separate beautifully decorated Ger (yurt) next to the Kazakh family. There are enough scenes that you can take photos of nature, eagles, livestock, and children. In the evening, join the family for a traditional Kazakh dinner while enjoying the sounds of the Dombra, a traditional Kazakh musical instrument. Dinner and overnight at Kazakh family extra ger.

After breakfast, we’ll head into the mountains to see the fascinating ancient tradition of eagle hunting in its natural setting. You’ll have a chance to take memorable photos with the eagle while on horseback. The day will be spent enjoying nomadic life — learning to cook a traditional Kazakh dish and experiencing the warm hospitality of our hosts. In the late afternoon, we’ll say goodbye to our kind local friends and drive to the center of Ulgii town for a short city tour. Upon arrival, we’ll visit Nairamdal Hill for a beautiful panoramic view over the town center. In the evening, we will attend to a charming concert with traditional Kazakh folk songs, and the beautiful sounds of the dombra, Kazakhstan’s most iconic musical instrument in your tourist Ger camp restaurant.

Today, we will return to Ulaanbaatar. If time allows, we will also visit the local market to experience small-town daily life. Upon arrival in Ulaanbaatar, transfer to your hotel. Then it’s free time for you to rest or wander on your own around the city before your departure tomorrow. Farewell dinner is at your hotel.

🍽️ Meals in Mongolia Tours

Most of our Mongolia tour packages include full-board meals — breakfast, lunch, and dinner. In Ulaanbaatar, lunches or dinners are served at popular local restaurants, giving you the opportunity to experience genuine Mongolian cuisine and the country’s unique dining culture. At tourist ger camps, lunches and dinners are pre-arranged and include 3–4 courses — soup and/or salad, main dish, dessert, and bottled water. If your itinerary includes stops at local roadside restaurants, you’ll be able to choose meals directly from the menu. In Ulaanbaatar, a wider range of cuisines — including Korean, Japanese, and Chinese dishes — is available upon request.

Special Diets: Vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free meals are available with advance notice.
