Itinerary

Arrive in Ulaanbaatar, the capital city of Mongolia. After clear customs and claim your luggage, you will be greeted by your driver at the exit and then transferred to your hotel. After check-in, free at leisure for the rest of the day to refresh yourself from jet lag.

In the early morning, you will be transferred to the city airport for a morning flight to the Gobi Desert (~1.5 hours). Upon arrival, your local tour guide and driver greet you with your name on the signboard and depart to the Bayanzag which means ‘rich in saxaul shrubs’. Once it was once an ancient sea bed. This amazing place is more commonly known as ‘Flaming Cliffs’ and is where many Paleontological findings have been discovered. American paleontologists led by Roy Chapman Andrew’s findings here proved to the world that dinosaurs laid eggs. Dinner and overnight at Tourist Ger camp near the Bayanzag.

Today, our excursion will start at 8 am at the extraordinary Khongor sand dune the largest and most breathtaking sand dune in Mongolia. The sand dunes make you feel extraordinary comfort and infinite peace.   
Reach the tourist camp around lunchtime and relax until Gobi’s hot temperature decreases. In the evening, visit the local camel herder family in their ger, and experience their nomadic lifestyle and ride a camel to explore the area. Next is the beautiful green oasis of Seruun Bulag near the Khongor River and sand dunes. Dinner and overnight at the tourist camp.

After relaxing breakfast, we will proceed to Yol valley (also called Yolyn Am & Eagle valley) in the hot Gobi Desert, which shows unusual scenery. On the way, you will have lunch at Bayandalai village. 

      At Yolyn Am, you will do pleasant hiking to reach the end of the gorge with thick ice layers throughout the year. Surrounding mountains are home to argali, ibex, and many birds of prey, as well as numerous small rodents. Before dinner, we will reach Dalanzadgad town and stay overnight in a good local hotel.

In the early morning, transfer to the local airport and fly back to Ulaanbaatar. Upon arrival at the city airport, we will take 2.5 hrs to drive to Terelj National Park, the nearest and the most breathtaking sightseeing from the capital Ulaanbaatar.

First, we will explore the national park and take a little drive to see Turtle Rock – the symbol of the National Park. You can climb on the rock if you want. Also, visit the Ariyabal meditation temple - Once you reach the temple and stand on the top of a hill, you will be amused by the whole park view.

After breakfast, we will return to Ulaanbaatar. On the way visit the “Genghis Khan Statue Complex” which is currently the biggest (40m high) equestrian statue in the world. You can go inside and enjoy museums, and souvenir shops. Then we will take a drive to eagle hunter's family and golden eagle. Enjoy the afternoon with a hospitable host’s home learning about Kazakh traditions in depth, particularly about training Golden Eagles. There are enough scenes that you can take photos of nature, eagles, livestock, and children.

The city tour starts with visiting the Museum of Mongolian National History – It provides an excellent overview of history and culture of Mongols from prehistory to contemporary era. After lunch at good local restaurant, visit Sukhbaatar square which lies at the heart of the city. The Mongolian Parliament Building stands in the north of the square, displaying an astonishing sight of Genghis Khaan and his warriors’ sculptures.  The evening is dedicated to visit “Folklore show”. It’s a great chance to hear Khöömii (throat singing) and see some fabulous costumes.

After breakfast, our excursion continues to Kharkhorin, a small village, and one of the country's major tourist destinations. Historically once was an ancient capital of Mongol Empire and the most important cities in the history of the Silk Road. Upon arrival, we will visit the museum of Karakorum and learn more about the Mongolian history. Continue the guided tour to the magnificent and the oldest Buddhist Monastery complex of Erdenezuu. The rest of the day is free time for you to be on your own.

After a relaxed breakfast, depart for eye-catching Terkhiin Tsagaan Lake which is surrounded by spectacular scenery of plants, forests, mountains, and fauna. On the way, visit and do hiking to Khorgo extinct volcano which is situated 2240 meters above the sea level (1,39 mile) and was active 8000 years ago. Check-in and lunch at Tourist camp near to the lake shore. In the afternoon is free for your own with optional activities.

After breakfast, we will drive towards to the Northern part of Mongolia. Today we will visit to the local family and experience the nomad way of life in depth.

Accommodation: Standard Ulziit Khishig tourist camp.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.

Enjoy breakfast and disembark to Murun town, a small town of Khuvsgul province with population of 35000. Following breakfast at Murun town, take a 2 hours’ drive to the Khatgal village on the shore of the lake and visit the village market and main port of the lake. Upon arrival at tourist camp, have lunch and relax on the shore of the lake.

Enjoy a delicious breakfast on the shore of the lake. This beautiful morning, you will ride a horse to meet reindeer herders and explore their daily life. Plus, there are great opportunities to do hiking, climbing the mountain, or just enjoy wild nature to take photos.

In the morning, we will drive to Uran extinct volcano. This place is great for hiking and wildlife observation.  Uran's highest point provides unobstructed, panoramic views of the volcanic fields, this area is a pretty good place to break the journey to Khuvsgul. After lunch drive to Bulgan town.

In the morning at 9 am, we will return to Ulaanbaatar. Afterwards, we will visit Zaisan Memorial Hill is a popular tourist attraction and one of the highlights of Ulaanbaatar because of its fantastic views it offers over the city. The evening is dedicated to visit “Folklore show”. It’s a great chance to hear Khöömii (throat singing) and see some fabulous costumes. Dinner is at your hotel.

🍽️ Meals in Mongolia Tours

Most of our Mongolia tour packages include full-board meals — breakfast, lunch, and dinner. In Ulaanbaatar, lunches or dinners are served at popular local restaurants, giving you the opportunity to experience genuine Mongolian cuisine and the country’s unique dining culture. At tourist ger camps, lunches and dinners are pre-arranged and include 3–4 courses — soup and/or salad, main dish, dessert, and bottled water. If your itinerary includes stops at local roadside restaurants, you’ll be able to choose meals directly from the menu. In Ulaanbaatar, a wider range of cuisines — including Korean, Japanese, and Chinese dishes — is available upon request.

Special Diets: Vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free meals are available with advance notice.
