Itinerary
Whenever, your international flight lands in city airport, you will be transferred to the hotel in Ulaanbaatar. Free at leisure for the rest of the day. You may need some time to relax and recover from the long-distance flight or possibly from jet-lag. If you feel like going for a walk and checking out places nearby, feel free to ask from your hotel reception for recommendations.

In the morning, take a flight to Ulgii (~3 hours), the capital of Bayan-Ulgii, Mongolia’s westernmost province. After lunch in Ulgii town, we will take a drive to a local eagle hunter's family and golden eagle. Enjoy the afternoon with a hospitable host’s home learning about Kazakh traditions in depth, particularly about training Golden Eagles. You will stay and rest in separate beautifully decorated Ger (yurt) next to the Kazakh family. There are enough scenes that you can take photos of nature, eagles, livestock, and children. In the evening, join the family for a traditional Kazakh dinner while enjoying the sounds of the Dombra, a traditional Kazakh musical instrument. Dinner and overnight at Kazakh family extra ger.

After breakfast, we’ll head into the mountains to see the fascinating ancient tradition of eagle hunting in its natural setting. You’ll have a chance to take memorable photos with the eagle while on horseback. The day will be spent enjoying nomadic life — learning to cook a traditional Kazakh dish and experiencing the warm hospitality of our hosts. In the late afternoon, we’ll say goodbye to our kind local friends and drive to the center of Ulgii town for a short city tour.
Upon arrival, we’ll visit Nairamdal Hill for a beautiful panoramic view over the town center. In the evening, we will attend to a charming concert with traditional Kazakh folk songs, and the beautiful sounds of the dombra, Kazakhstan’s most iconic musical instrument in your tourist Ger camp restaurant.

Today, we will return to Ulaanbaatar. If time allows, we will also visit the local market to experience small-town daily life. Upon arrival at the city airport, we will take 2.5 hrs to drive to Terelj National Park, the nearest and the most breathtaking sightseeing from the capital Ulaanbaatar.
First, we will explore the national park and take a little drive to see Turtle Rock – the symbol of the National Park. You can climb on the rock if you want, Also, visit the Ariyabal meditation temple - Once you reach the temple and stand on the top of a hill, you will be amused by the whole park view. In the evening, visit a nomadic family living nearby, where you will have a Mongolian cooking lesson to learn how to prepare Buuz (steamed dumplings) or huushuur (fried meat pastry).

In the early morning at 7:00 am, your guide and driver will pick you up from your guest house or Chinghis Khan airport. Then we will drive towards Tsagaan Suvarga. We will drive through rolling hills and the steppe of the Middle Gobi province. On the way, we will have lunch at local restaurant. Upon arrival at the Ger camp check in and relax. Tsagaan Suvarga is a steep, colorful limestone slope that once was an ancient sea bed, featuring a sedimentary structure that was created over millions of years.

After relaxing breakfast, depart to the mountain valley named “Yol Valley”- which shows unusual scenery. On the way, you will have lunch at Bayandalai village. At Yolyn Am, you will do pleasant hiking or you can ride a horse (pay directly to the horse owner) to reach the end of the gorge with thick ice layers throughout the year. Surrounding mountains are home to eagles, elusive wild sheep and ibexes, and many birds of prey, as well as numerous small rodents.

Today, our excursion will start at 8 am to the extraordinary Khongor sand dune the largest and most breathtaking sand dunes in Mongolia. The sand dunes make you feel extraordinary comfort and infinite peace. Reach the tourist camp around lunch time and relax until Gobi hot temperature decrease. In the evening, visit local camel herder family in their ger, and experience their nomadic lifestyle and ride a camel to explore the area. Next is to a beautiful green oasis of Seruun Bulag near the Khongor River and sand dunes. Then, climb up to the highest point of sand dunes called Singing Dune. Dinner and overnight at the tourist camp.

On this day, we will continue their journey to Bayanzag, also known as the ‘Flaming Cliffs,’ a place rich in saxaul shrubs and once an ancient seabed. This remarkable site is renowned for its significant paleontological discoveries, including the groundbreaking work of Roy Chapman Andrews and his team, who proved that dinosaurs laid eggs here. We’ll do hiking and visit the Bayanzag Information Center, where we will learn why Mongolia is a global hotspot for dinosaur discoveries. The center offers fascinating insights into the dinosaur era and the region’s vital role in expanding our understanding of prehistoric life. The Flaming Cliffs provide breathtaking scenery at both sunset and sunrise, and as night falls, you'll have the perfect chance to capture the billions of stars in the clear desert sky. This experience promises to be one of the highlights of your adventure.

Today, we will head to the Gobi Desert and come around lunchtime at the Tourist camp. This bare steppe area along the Ongi River makes a good resting place to break a trip between the Gobi Desert and the Central Mongolian steppe. Ongi temple was once one of the biggest monasteries. But it is today a small museum. Refresh at the ger camp and take a walk among the ruins to photograph and visit the reconstructed temple museum.

After breakfast, our excursion continues to Kharkhorin, a small village, and one of the country's major tourist destinations. Historically once was the ancient capital of the Mongol Empire and the most important city in the history of the Silk Road. Upon arrival in Kharkhorin, we will visit the museum of Karakorum and learn more about Mongolian history. Continue the guided tour to the oldest Buddhist Monastery complex of Erdenezuu. Dinner and overnight at tourist Ger camp.

This morning, drive to the Hustai National Park, where world’s last wild horse (never domesticated), Takhi inhabit. Upon arrival at Hustai, visit small Ger information center - shows some detailed information about last truly wild horses. After enjoy lunch at the tourist camp, take a short drive and walking to see the horses in their natural habitat. There is a great opportunity to take photos for these endangered horses. You may be lucky to see fox, deer, roe deer, eagle, and more animals and birds.

Today, you will be picked up from your hotel and transferred to the city airport for the flight to Murun, which is the town center of Khuvsgul Province. Upon landing at Murun airport, your guide and driver lead you to Khuvsgul Lake, which is known as the Switzerland of Mongolia and the second clearest lake in Central Asia. Upon arrival at tourist camp, we will explore the national park from horse back. Mongolia is the best destination for horse riding trip and especially Khuvsgul province is the best recommended place for this experience.

Enjoy a delicious breakfast on the shore of the lake. This beautiful morning, we will meet reindeer herders and explore their daily life not traveling far on rough roads and riding horses for several days to the remote Taiga. Plus, there are great opportunities to do hiking, climbing to the mountain, or just enjoy wild nature to take photos.

Early this morning, we will return to Murun town and take a return flight to Ulaanbaatar. On the way, you will visit Uushig ancient Deer Stone Monument, another wonder of the Khuvsgul region. This is most clearly depicted by deer stones left behind by bronze-age men. Upon arrival we will visit Zaisan Memorial Hill is a popular tourist attraction and one of the highlights of Ulaanbaatar because of its fantastic views it offers over the city. The evening is dedicated to visit “Folklore show”. It’s a great chance to hear Khöömii (throat singing) and see some fabulous costumes.
