Love horse riding? Mongolia is the ultimate destination to make your horseback dream come true. This 11-day adventure combines Mini Gobi’s golden dunes and the crystal-blue Khuvsgul Lake. Ride horses and camels, meet nomads and reindeer herders, and explore Mongolia’s stunning green north from July to September — the best season to ride. Don’t worry if you’re new to horse riding — we’ll match you with a horse that suits your riding level perfectly.

Itinerary

Arrive in Ulaanbaatar, the capital city of Mongolia. After clear customs and claim your luggage, you will be greeted by TGM tour guide & driver at the exit and then transferred to your hotel. After check-in, free at leisure for the rest of the day to refresh yourself from jet lag.

After breakfast, our travel continues to Mini Gobi (Elsen Tasarkhai) - the beautiful sand dunes is covered with rare bushes shrubs such as willow, elm and dogwood and a small forest near a river. It is very unique to see this type of ecosystem, combination of mountains, forests, steppes and sand dunes in one location. After lunch at tourist camp, we will visit camel herder family and explore their unique nomadic lifestyle and discover this magnificent place from on camel back. Dinner and overnight at Tourist camp.

After breakfast, our excursion continues to Kharkhorin, a small village, and one of the country's major tourist destinations. Historically once was an ancient capital of Mongol Empire and the most important cities in the history of the Silk Road.

Upon arrival, we will visit the museum of Karakorum and learn more about the Mongolian history. Continue the guided tour to the magnificent and the oldest Buddhist Monastery complex of Erdenezuu. After enjoy your lunch, we will head to famous Tsenkher hot spring that reaches +86.5"C and its flow rate is 10 liters per second. Curative water and amazing nature featured by wooded mountains make this an excellent place for relaxing in hot spring. In the evening, enjoy horse riding through the scenic wooded mountains and open grasslands

After a relaxed breakfast, depart for eye-catching Terkhiin Tsagaan Lake which is surrounded by spectacular scenery of plants, forests, mountains, and fauna. Check-in and lunch at Tourist camp near to the lake shore. On the way, visit and do hiking to Khorgo extinct volcano which is situated 2240 meters above the sea level (1,39 mile) and was active 8000 years ago.

After breakfast, we will drive towards to the Northern part of Mongolia. Today we will visit to the local family and experience the nomad way of life in depth. This day we will explore around the area on horsback.

Enjoy breakfast and disembark to Murun town, a small town of Khuvsgul province with population of 35000. Following lunch at Murun town, take a 2 hours’ drive to the Khatgal village on the shore of the lake and visit the village market and main port of the lake. 
      Upon arrival at tourist camp, have lunch and relax on the shore of the lake.

Enjoy delicious breakfast on the shore of the lake. This beautiful morning, we will explore the national park from horse back. Mongolia is the best destination for horse riding trip and especially Khuvsgul province is the best recommended place for this experience. In the evening, we will drive to Murun town for local good hotel stay

In the morning, we will drive to Uran extinct volcano. This place is great for hiking and wildlife observation.  Uran's highest point provides unobstructed, panoramic views of the volcanic fields, this area is a pretty good place to break the journey to Khuvsgul. After lunch drive to Bulgan town.

On this day, We will journey back to Ulaanbaatar. Along the way, we will also experience Mongolian horse riding on the vast steppe last time and return to the city

In the morning at 9am, we will return to Ulaanbaatar and upon arrival, city tour starts with visiting the largest glorious Gandan monastery and capture the monks’ daily rituals. Highlight of the monastery is 26-meter-high majestic gilded indoor statue of Megjid Janraisig.
      Continue to visit Museum of Mongolian National History – It provides an excellent overview of history and culture of Mongols from prehistory to contemporary era. After lunch at good local restaurant, visit Sukhbaatar square which lies at the heart of the city. The Mongolian Parliament Building stands in the north of the square, displaying an astonishing sight of Genghis Khaan and his warriors’ sculptures.
      Next visit Bogd Khan Palace museum - is one of the first museums in Mongolia, originally dedicated to the 8-th Bogd Jivzundamba, the head of Mongolian religion as winter residence of him. Afterwards, we will visit Zaisan Memorial Hill is a popular tourist attraction and one of the highlights of Ulan Baatar because of its fantastic views it offers over the city. The evening is dedicated to attend “Folklore show”. It’s a great chance to hear Khöömii (throat singing) and see some fabulous costumes. Dinner is at your hotel.

You will be free at leisure in your hotel or wander around on your own until being escorted to the Chinggis Khaan International Airport for your departure flight home. End of service.

🍽️ Meals in Mongolia Tours

Most of our Mongolia tour packages include full-board meals — breakfast, lunch, and dinner. In Ulaanbaatar, lunches or dinners are served at popular local restaurants, giving you the opportunity to experience genuine Mongolian cuisine and the country’s unique dining culture. At tourist ger camps, lunches and dinners are pre-arranged and include 3–4 courses — soup and/or salad, main dish, dessert, and bottled water. If your itinerary includes stops at local roadside restaurants, you’ll be able to choose meals directly from the menu. In Ulaanbaatar, a wider range of cuisines — including Korean, Japanese, and Chinese dishes — is available upon request.

Special Diets: Vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free meals are available with advance notice.
