Itinerary

Arrive in Ulaanbaatar, the capital city of Mongolia. After clear customs and claim your luggage, you will be greeted by your private driver at the exit and then transferred to your hotel. After check-in, free at leisure for the rest of the day to refresh yourself from jet lag.

In the morning, we will begin our journey toward Tsagaan Suvarga, traveling through wide-open steppe of Middle Gobi Province. Upon arrival at the Ger camp check in. Tsagaan Suvarga—famous for its steep, colorful limestone cliffs—was once part of an ancient seabed, and its striking layers were formed over millions of years. You can enjoy hiking in the area and capture beautiful panoramic photos of this dramatic landscape.

After relaxing breakfast, we will proceed to Yol valley (also known as Yolyn Am or Eagle Valley), a stunning oasis of cool, narrow gorges in the middle of the hot Gobi Desert. On the way, we will stop at the Gobi Museum in Dalanzadgad town. Upon arrival in the valley, you will take a scenic hike through the gorge, which often retains thick layers of ice throughout the year.

Today, our excursion to the extraordinary Khongor sand dune will start at 8 am. We will arrive at the tourist camp around lunchtime. Then it’s time for relaxing at cozy Ger camp until Gobi hot temperature decrease. In the late afternoon, we will visit the local camel herder family in their ger, and explore their unique lifestyle and culture. Then ride a camel, which is the perfect place for camel riding? The next excursion is to the beautiful green oasis of Seruun Bulag near the Khongor River and sand dunes. Then, climb up to the highest point of the sand dunes called Singing Dune. Dinner and overnight at the tourist camp.

On this day, our trip will continue to Bayanzag, which means ‘rich in saxaul shrubs’, which was once an ancient sea bed. This amazing place is more commonly known as ‘Flaming Cliffs’ and place where a lot of Paleontological findings have been discovered. American paleontologists led by Roy Chapman Andrew’s findings here proved to the world that dinosaurs laid eggs. We will explore the area, including the saxual trees and wander on the red hillocks. There is a good chance to gaze at the billions of stars in the evening.

Today, we will head to the Gobi Desert and come around lunchtime at the Tourist camp. This bare steppe area along the Ongi River makes a good resting place to break a trip between the Gobi Desert and the Central Mongolian steppe. Ongi temple was once one of the biggest monasteries. But it is today a small museum. Refresh at the ger camp and take a walk among the ruins and visit the reconstructed temple museum. If you want, you can have pleasant massage and sauna at the camp. The rest of the day is yours to relax on your own.

After breakfast, our excursion continues to Kharkhorin, a small village, and one of the country's major tourist destinations. Historically once was the ancient capital of the Mongol Empire and the most important city in the history of the Silk Road. Upon arrival, we will visit the museum of Karakorum and learn more about Mongolian history. Continue the guided tour to the magnificent and oldest Buddhist Monastery complex of Erdenezuu. The rest of the day is free time for you to be on your own.

After a relaxed breakfast, depart for eye-catching Terkhiin Tsagaan Lake which is surrounded by spectacular scenery of plants, forests, mountains, and fauna. On the way, visit Khorgo extinct volcano which is situated 2240 meters above the sea level (1,39 mile) and was active 8000 years ago. After exploring the volcano and climb to the crater, reach the tourist Ger camp on the shore of lake. In the afternoon is free for your own with optional activities. It is possible to do full or half day hiking for wild flower and bird watching. Also, there is a great opportunity for everyone to do horse riding, mountain climbing, fishing and swimming etc.

Today, you'll take a short drive to attend the Naadam Festival at Tsetserleg town. Experience the festival's main events, including horse racing, wrestling, and archery, while witnessing Mongolians dressed in their finest traditional attire and riding their best horses. If you're feeling adventurous, you can participate in some of the games like wrestling and archery. Enjoy the vibrant commerce of Naadam and savor the festival's signature dish, Huushuur.

After relaxing breakfast, we will head to Lake Ugii. This freshwater lake is 5km wide, 7km long, and surrounded by a steppe natural zone. The lake has lots of water birds and fish including perches and pikes for fishing. On the way, we will visit Nomad Family to experience the nomadic lifestyle and enjoy tasting dairy products. Dinner and overnight at a tourist camp near the shore of the lake.

In the morning at 9 am, we will return to Ulaanbaatar and Upon arrival, the city tour starts with visiting the largest glorious Gandan monastery and capturing the monks’ daily rituals. The highlight of the monastery is a 26-meter-high majestic gilded indoor statue of Megjid Janraisig.

Continue to visit Museum of Mongolian National History – It provides an excellent overview of history and culture of Mongols from prehistory to contemporary era. After lunch at good local restaurant, visit Sukhbaatar square which lies at the heart of the city. The Mongolian Parliament Building stands in the north of the square, displaying an astonishing sight of Genghis Khaan and his warriors’ sculptures. Afterwards, we will visit Zaisan Memorial Hill is a popular tourist attraction and one of the highlights of Ulan Baatar because of its fantastic views it offers over the city. The evening is dedicated to visit “Folklore show”. It’s a great chance to hear Khöömii (throat singing) and see some fabulous costumes. Dinner is at your hotel.

In the morning at 9 am, head to “Genghis Khan Statue Complex” which is currently the biggest (40m high) equestrian statue in the world. You can go inside and enjoy museums, and souvenir shops. Take a short drive to visit Terelj National Park. This is one of the nearest and the most breathtaking sights from the capital Ulaanbaatar and the landscape is impressive with the magnificent rocky mountainous scene and a lucid river and green groves. In the afternoon, we will explore the national park and see Turtle Rock – the symbol of the National Park. You can take a photo of the rock and climb on the rock if you want. Also, visit the Ariyabal meditation temple - Once you reach the temple and stand on the top of the hill, you will be amused by the whole park view. Return to Ulaanbaatar and you will be transferred to a location of your choice.

🍽️ Meals in Mongolia Tours

Most of our Mongolia tour packages include full-board meals — breakfast, lunch, and dinner. In Ulaanbaatar, lunches or dinners are served at popular local restaurants, giving you the opportunity to experience genuine Mongolian cuisine and the country’s unique dining culture. At tourist ger camps, lunches and dinners are pre-arranged and include 3–4 courses — soup and/or salad, main dish, dessert, and bottled water. If your itinerary includes stops at local roadside restaurants, you’ll be able to choose meals directly from the menu. In Ulaanbaatar, a wider range of cuisines — including Korean, Japanese, and Chinese dishes — is available upon request.

Special Diets: Vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free meals are available with advance notice.
