Itinerary

Arrive in Ulaanbaatar, the capital city of Mongolia. After clear customs and claim your luggage, you will be greeted by private driver at the exit and then transferred to your hotel. After check-in, free at leisure for the rest of the day to refresh yourself from jet lag.

Get ready for an unforgettable adventure as we begin your journey to the beautiful Tsagaan Suvarga colorful Cliff in the Middle Gobi province. At 8:00am, your guide and driver will pick you up and set out through rolling hills and the expansive steppe. Upon arrival at the Ger camp check in and have lunch. Tsagaan Suvarga is a steep colorful limestone slope that once was an ancient sea bed, featuring a sedimentary structure that was created over millions of years. Here you can go hiking and take photographs of the beautiful panoramic views of Tsagaan Suvarga.

After relaxing breakfast, we will proceed to Yol valley (also called Yolyn Am & Eagle valley) in the hot Gobi Desert, which shows unusual scenery. There you will do hiking to reach the end of the gorge with thick ice layers throughout the year. Surrounding mountains are home to eagles, elusive wild sheep and ibexes, and many birds of prey, as well as numerous small rodents.

This is the perfect time to create lasting memories, surrounded by the breathtaking landscapes of Khongor Sand Dune. Today, our excursion to the extraordinary Khongor sand dune will start at 8 am. We will arrive at the tourist camp around lunchtime.

We will visit the local camel herder nomad family to learn their way of life and and taste dairy products. You'll also have the chance to ride a two-humped Mongolian camel, experiencing firsthand this incredible mode of transport. Next, we’ll explore the lush green oasis of Seruun Bulag, the flowing Khongor River, and the vast, rolling sand dunes. As the day comes to a close, be sure to capture the beauty of the sunset and the surrounding mountains.

On this day, We will continue our journey to Bayanzag, also known as the ‘Flaming Cliffs,’ a place rich in saxaul shrubs and once an ancient seabed. This remarkable site is renowned for its significant paleontological discoveries, including the groundbreaking work of Roy Chapman Andrews and his team, who proved that dinosaurs laid eggs here. We’ll do hiking and visit the Bayanzag Information Center, where we will learn why Mongolia is a global hotspot for dinosaur discoveries. The center offers fascinating insights into the dinosaur era and the region’s vital role in expanding our understanding of prehistoric life. The Flaming Cliffs provide breathtaking scenery at both sunset and sunrise, and as night falls, you'll have the perfect chance to capture the billions of stars in the clear desert sky. This experience promises to be one of the highlights of your adventure.

Today, we will head to the Gobi Desert and come around lunchtime at the Tourist camp. This bare steppe area along the Ongi River makes a good resting place to break a trip between the Gobi Desert and the Central Mongolian steppe. Ongi temple was once one of the biggest monasteries. But it is today a small museum. Refresh at the ger camp and take a walk among the ruins to photograph and visit the reconstructed temple museum.

After breakfast, our excursion continues to Kharkhorin, a small village, and one of the country's major tourist destinations. Historically once was the ancient capital of the Mongol Empire and the most important city in the history of the Silk Road.

Upon arrival in Kharkhorin, we will visit the Karakorum Museum and learn more about Mongolian history.

Continue the guided tour to the oldest Buddhist Monastery complex of Erdenezuu—dinner and overnight at tourist Ger camp.

This morning, drive to the Hustai National Park, where world’s last wild horse (never domesticated), Takhi inhabit. Upon arrival at Hustai, visit small Ger information center- shows some detailed information about last truly wild horses.

After enjoy lunch at the tourist camp, take a short drive and walking to see the horses in their natural habitat. There is a great opportunity to take photos for these endangered horses. You may be lucky to see fox, deer, roe deer, eagle, and more animals and birds…

At 9:00 AM, your private tour guide and driver will meet you in the hotel lobby, ready to begin your city journey. Our first stop is the majestic Gandan monastery and capturing the monks’ daily rituals.

Next, we head to Zaisan Memorial Hill, a popular tourist attraction and one of the highlights of Ulan Baatar because of its fantastic views over the city.

After enjoying lunch at one of the city’s top local restaurants, we’ll stroll through Sukhbaatar Square, which lies at the heart of the city. The Mongolian Parliament Building stands in the north of the square, displaying an astonishing sight of Genghis Khaan and his warriors’ sculptures.

Continue to visit the Museum of Mongolian National History – It provides an excellent overview of the history and culture of Mongols from prehistory to the contemporary era. In the evening, enjoy an enchanting traditional folklore performance, featuring the mesmerizing sounds of Khöömii (Mongolian throat singing), graceful traditional dances, and the awe-inspiring artistry of world-famous Mongolian contortionists.

In the morning, take a flight to Ulgii (~3 hours), the capital of Bayan-Ulgii, Mongolia’s westernmost province.

After lunch in Ulgii town, we will take a drive to a local eagle hunter's family and golden eagle. Enjoy the afternoon with a hospitable host’s home, learn about Kazakh traditions in depth, particularly about training Golden Eagles. You will stay and rest in a separate, beautifully decorated Ger (yurt) next to the Kazakh family. There are enough scenes that you can take photos of nature, eagles, livestock, and children.

In the evening, join the family for a traditional Kazakh dinner while enjoying the sounds of the Dombra, a traditional Kazakh musical instrument.

In the morning, we will drive to Sayat small hill for the festival. Program in 1st day of the festival

  • The Opening ceremony with parade of participants on horseback with their eagles.

  • Calling eagle on arm. Eagle will be released from the top of mountain, and land on trainer arm when he calls the eagle among people down.

  • The festival includes a Uriankhai archery competition.

  • Also, there small Camel race takes place.

In the evening, enjoy Kazakh traditional concert at local theater in Ulgii town.

Today, 2nd day of the festival continues. This day eagle hunters compete with some traditional and interesting games.

  • Eagle hunters drag animal skins pretending it is real fox or any live animal and eagle must catch this skin.

  • The Kyz Kuar game show is a traditional horseback riding game for couples who race and if the girl can catch the boy, boys are whipped by girls.

  • There are other entertaining games such as Push Cashy (fighting for death goat body)

  • Closing and award ceremony for best eagles with their best trainers.

Return to the Ger camp for dinner and overnight.

Today, we will return to Ulaanbaatar. If time allows, we will also visit the local market to experience small-town daily life.

Upon arrival in Ulaanbaatar, we will head to Terelj National Park. This is the nearest and the most breathtaking sightseeing from the capital Ulaanbaatar and the landscape is impressive with the magnificent rocky mountainous scene and a lucid river and green groves. Your private guide and driver will lead you first to “Genghis Khan Statue Complex” which is currently the biggest (40m high) equestrian statue in the world. You can go inside and enjoy museums, souvenir shops and restaurants.

Afterward, we will explore the national park and see Turtle Rock – the symbol of the National Park. You can take a photo of the rock and climb on the rock if you want, Also, visit the Ariyabal meditation temple - Once you reach the temple and stand on the top of the hill, you will be amused by the whole park view. Later in the evening return to Ulaanbaatar and transfer to your hotel.

🍽️ Meals in Mongolia Tours

Most of our Mongolia tour packages include full-board meals — breakfast, lunch, and dinner. In Ulaanbaatar, lunches or dinners are served at popular local restaurants, giving you the opportunity to experience genuine Mongolian cuisine and the country’s unique dining culture. At tourist ger camps, lunches and dinners are pre-arranged and include 3–4 courses — soup and/or salad, main dish, dessert, and bottled water. If your itinerary includes stops at local roadside restaurants, you’ll be able to choose meals directly from the menu. In Ulaanbaatar, a wider range of cuisines — including Korean, Japanese, and Chinese dishes — is available upon request.

Special Diets: Vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free meals are available with advance notice.
