Itinerary

Arrive in Ulaanbaatar, the capital city of Mongolia. After clearing customs and claiming your luggage, you will be greeted by a GTM tour guide & driver at the exit and then transferred to your hotel. After check-in, free at leisure for the rest of the day to refresh yourself from jet lag.

 At 8 am, you will meet with your private tour guide and driver at your hotel and start your trip to Elsen Tasarkhai sand dunes - the beautiful dunes are covered with rare bushes shrubs such as willow, elm, and dogwood and a small forest near a river. It is very unique to see this type of ecosystem, a combination of mountains, forests, steppes, and dunes in one location.

      After lunch at the tourist camp, we will visit a camel herder family and explore their unique nomadic lifestyle and discover this magnificent place on camelback. Dinner and overnight at Tourist camp.

Next few days, we will travel across the Orkhon Valley which is considered the cradle of Central Asian nomadic civilizations and has been continuously inhabited by various ancient peoples, Orkhon Valley is accepted as a “Cultural Landscape” of the UNESCO World Heritage. Orkhon waterfall was formed by volcanic eruptions and earthquakes some 20000 years ago.  After having lunch, take an excursion to the waterfall and then explore the area on horseback for one hour.

After breakfast, our excursion continues to the famous Tsenkher hot spring that reaches +86.5"C and its flow rate is 10 liters per second. Additionally, it is believed that the hot spring is good for treating rheumatism, neuralgia, and muscular pain and helps improve the digestive system and restores immunity. 
      Upon arrival, enjoy lunch and hike in the surrounding hills and forests to discover pools and steams of hot springs. Curative water and amazing nature featured by wooded mountains make this an excellent place for relaxing in a hot spring.

After breakfast, our excursion continues to Kharkhorin, a small village, and one of the country's major tourist destinations. Historically once was the ancient capital of the Mongol Empire and the most important city in the history of the Silk Road. Upon arrival, we will visit the museum of Karakorum and learn more about Mongolian history. Continue the guided tour to the magnificent and oldest Buddhist Monastery complex of Erdenezuu. After enjoying your lunch, we will take a 1.5hrs drive to Ugii Lake which is the closest freshwater lake to Ulaanbaatar. It is protected by the International Ramsar Convention and most important transit point for migratory birds. Check-in Ger camp on the shore of the lake. The rest of the day is free time for you to be on your own.

This morning let us take you to the world’s last wild horse (never domesticated), Takhi in Hustai National Park with an open steppe, a river valley, a birch forest, and mountains.   Lunch and check-in at a tourist camp near the National Park. 
After some refreshments, we visit the information center and learn familiar with the national park and wild horses. Take a short drive and walk to see the horses in their natural habitat.  There is a great opportunity to take photos of these endangered horses.

At 8.00 am depart for Terelj National Park. the nearest and the most breathtaking sightseeing from the capital Ulaanbaatar.   
      In the afternoon, we will explore the national park and see Turtle Rock - the symbol of the National Park. You can climb on the rock if you want, Also, visit the Ariyabal meditation temple.  Once you reach the temple and stand on the top of the hill, you will be amused by the whole park’s view.

This morning, we will return to Ulaanbaatar.  En route, you will drive to “Genghis Khan Statue Complex” which is currently the biggest (40m high) equestrian statue in the world. You can go inside and enjoy museums, and souvenir shops.     After lunch at a good local restaurant in Ulaanbaatar, visit the Museum of Mongolian National History – It provides an excellent overview of the history and culture of Mongols from prehistory to the contemporary era.
      Continue to visit Sukhbaatar square which lies at the heart of the city. The Mongolian Parliament Building stands in the north of the square, displaying an astonishing sight of Genghis Khaan and his warriors’ sculptures. Next, visit the largest glorious Gandan monastery and capture the monks’ daily rituals. The evening is dedicated to attending the Folklore show. It’s a great chance to hear Khöömii (throat singing) and see some fabulous costumes.  Your farewell dinner is at your hotel.

You will be free at leisure in your hotel or wander around on your own until being escorted to the Chinggis Khaan International Airport for your departure flight home. End of service.

🍽️ Meals in Mongolia Tours

Most of our Mongolia tour packages include full-board meals — breakfast, lunch, and dinner. In Ulaanbaatar, lunches or dinners are served at popular local restaurants, giving you the opportunity to experience genuine Mongolian cuisine and the country’s unique dining culture. At tourist ger camps, lunches and dinners are pre-arranged and include 3–4 courses — soup and/or salad, main dish, dessert, and bottled water. If your itinerary includes stops at local roadside restaurants, you’ll be able to choose meals directly from the menu. In Ulaanbaatar, a wider range of cuisines — including Korean, Japanese, and Chinese dishes — is available upon request.

Special Diets: Vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free meals are available with advance notice.
