Visiting a nomad family as part of a regular tour only gives a glimpse of their life. How can you truly experience the Mongolian nomadic way of life? What is a nomad family’s daily routine? How do they herd livestock, cook meals, and live close to nature? This budget-friendly Mongolia tour is designed for culturally curious travelers who want an in-depth, authentic nomadic experience.

Itinerary

At 8 am, you will meet with your private tour guide and driver at your hotel and start your trip to Elsen Tasarkhai sand dunes - the beautiful sand dunes are covered with rare bushes shrubs such as willow, elm and dogwood and a small forest near a river. It is very unique to see this type of ecosystem, a combination of mountains, forests, steppes, and sand dunes in one location.
      After lunch at the tourist camp, we will visit a camel herder family and explore their unique nomadic lifestyle and discover this magnificent place from camelback.

    Accommodation: Nomad Home Stay.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner.
           

This morning let us take you to the world’s last wild horse (never domesticated), Takhi in Hustai National Park with an open steppe, a river valley, a birch forest, and mountains.   Lunch and check-in at a tourist camp near the National Park. 
After some refreshments, we visit the information center and learn familiar with the national park and wild horses. Take a short drive and walk to 
see the horses in their natural habitat.  There is a great opportunity to take photos of these endangered horses.

At 8.00 am depart for Terelj National Park. the nearest and the most breathtaking sightseeing from the capital Ulaanbaatar.   
      In the afternoon, we will explore the national park and see Turtle Rock - the symbol of the National Park. You can climb on the rock if you want, Also, visit the Ariyabal meditation temple.  Once you reach the temple and stand on the top of hill, you will be amused by the whole park view.

In the morning, we will return to Ulaanbaatar. On the way visit the “Genghis Khan Statue Complex” which is currently the biggest (40m high) equestrian statue in the world. 
      Upon arrival in Ulaanbaatar, visit Zaisan Memorial Hill which is a popular tourist attraction and one of the highlights of Ulaan Baatar because of the fantastic views it offers over the city. After lunch at a local decent restaurant, Then, we will check Sukhbaatar square which lies at the heart of the city surrounded by important buildings such as the government palace, banks, theaters, and post office. Transferred to your hotel and end of service.

🍽️ Meals in Mongolia Tours

Most of our Mongolia tour packages include full-board meals — breakfast, lunch, and dinner. In Ulaanbaatar, lunches or dinners are served at popular local restaurants, giving you the opportunity to experience genuine Mongolian cuisine and the country’s unique dining culture. At tourist ger camps, lunches and dinners are pre-arranged and include 3–4 courses — soup and/or salad, main dish, dessert, and bottled water. If your itinerary includes stops at local roadside restaurants, you’ll be able to choose meals directly from the menu. In Ulaanbaatar, a wider range of cuisines — including Korean, Japanese, and Chinese dishes — is available upon request.

Special Diets: Vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free meals are available with advance notice.

In the Countryside: During your trip, you’ll stay in Tourist Ger Camps, Mongolia’s signature accommodation. Each camp features traditional Gers (yurts) with scenic surroundings.

  • Private Tours: Most nights include ensuite tourist ger camps (private bathrooms), with a few nights at standard camps.

Winter Tours
