Itinerary

Arrive in Ulaanbaatar, the capital city of Mongolia. After clearing customs and claiming your luggage, you will be greeted by a GTM tour guide & driver at the exit and then transferred to your hotel. After check-in, free at leisure for the rest of the day to refresh yourself from jet lag.

Today your guide and driver pick you up and take a short drive to Mongol Nomadic Show. Show includes

  • Demonstration of everyday life of traditional Mongolian families and herders in a real life,

  • Making dairy products and offering the taste of it,

  • Live demonstration of the movement of Mongolian herder family by the carts including ox carts and by camel freight,

  • Live demonstration of milking yaks, fastening and milking sheep, and goats, and milking the mare.

  • Making the felt and tanning process

  • Demonstration of national musical instruments and singing of folk songs,

    After a relaxing lunch, drive back to Ulaanbaatar. First we will visit Sukhbaatar square which lies at the heart of the city surrounded by important buildings such as the government palace, banks and theaters, and post office. Our next highlight is a famous Cultural show concert in the city, which is featuring traditional performances by singers, dancers, and contortionists.

In the early morning, you'll be transferred to the city airport for a flight to the Gobi Desert, which takes about 1.5 hours. Upon arrival, you'll be met by your local tour guide and driver, who will take you to (Flaming Cliffs) Bayanzag—known as "rich in saxaul shrubs"—a former ancient seabed. This remarkable site, commonly referred to as the "Flaming Cliffs," is renowned for its paleontological discoveries. American paleontologists, led by Roy Chapman Andrews, made groundbreaking discoveries here, proving to the world that dinosaurs laid eggs. You'll explore significant areas, including the saxaul trees and the red hillocks. Dinner and overnight stay will be at a Tourist Ger camp near Bayanzag, where you’ll have a great opportunity to stargaze in the evening.

Today, our excursion will start at 8am to the extraordinary Khongor sand dune the largest and most breathtaking sand dunes in Mongolia reaching as high as 100-300 meters (328,08 – 984,25 feet) above the ground. This is undoubtedly among the most spectacular of the country. The sand dunes make you feel extraordinary comfort and infinite peace. Reach the tourist camp around lunch time and relax until Gobi hot temperature decrease. In the evening, visit local camel herder family in their ger, and experience their nomadic lifestyle and ride a camel to explore the area. Next excursion is to a beautiful green oasis of Seruun Bulag near the Khongor River and sand dunes.  Dinner and overnight at the tourist camp.

After relaxing breakfast, depart to the mountain valley named “Yol Valley”- shows unusual scenery where you will do pleasant hiking to reach the end of the gorge with thick ice layers throughout the year. Surrounding mountains are home to eagles, elusive wild sheep and ibexes, and many birds of prey, as well as numerous small rodents. Before dinner, we will reach Dalanzadgad town and overnight in a good local hotel there.

In the early morning, transfer to the local airport and fly back to Ulaanbaatar. Upon arrival at the city airport, we will take short drive to Terelj National Park, the nearest and the most breathtaking sightseeing from the capital Ulaanbaatar First, we will explore the national park and take a little drive to see Turtle Rock – the symbol of the National Park. You can climb on the rock if you want, Also, visit the Ariyabal meditation temple - Once you reach the temple and stand on the top of a hill, you will be amused by the whole park view.

After relaxing lunch, head to “Genghis Khan Statue Complex” which is currently the biggest (40m high) equestrian statue in the world. You can go inside and enjoy museums, and souvenir shops. Then drive to Ulaanbaatar and transferred to your hotel.

You will be free at leisure in your hotel or wander around on your own until being escorted to the Chinggis Khaan International Airport for your departure flight home. End of service.

🍽️ Meals in Mongolia Tours

Most of our Mongolia tour packages include full-board meals — breakfast, lunch, and dinner. In Ulaanbaatar, lunches or dinners are served at popular local restaurants, giving you the opportunity to experience genuine Mongolian cuisine and the country’s unique dining culture. At tourist ger camps, lunches and dinners are pre-arranged and include 3–4 courses — soup and/or salad, main dish, dessert, and bottled water. If your itinerary includes stops at local roadside restaurants, you’ll be able to choose meals directly from the menu. In Ulaanbaatar, a wider range of cuisines — including Korean, Japanese, and Chinese dishes — is available upon request.

Special Diets: Vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free meals are available with advance notice.
