Itinerary

At 9 am, your private tour guide and driver will pick you up and start your trip to Mini Gobi Elsen Tasarkhai - the beautiful sand dunes is covered with rare bushes shrubs such as willow, elm and dogwood and a small forest near a river.

Then continue drive and visit camel herder family and explore their unique nomadic lifestyle and discover this magnificent place from on camel back. Dinner and overnight at Tourist camp.

Today we will head to Northern Mongolia. On the way, we will we will visit the museum of Karakorum and learn more about Mongolian history. Continue the guided tour to the magnificent and oldest Buddhist Monastery of Erdenezuu, built in the 16th century, with 108 buddhis stupas. Here you can listen to monks chanting of Buddhist sutras. After lunch, we will head to Bulgan town. Dinner and overnight at local hotel.

Enjoy breakfast and disembark to Murun town, a small town of Khuvsgul province with po pulation of 35000. Following lunch at Murun town, take a 2 hours’ drive to the Khatgal village on the shore of the lake and visit the village market and main port of the lake. On the way, we will see reindeers and take photo there.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.

After a relaxing breakfast, take a short drive to the Ice Festival site to join the opening ceremony. This two days, you will enjoy a variety of exciting winter games and performances, such as:

  • Traditional reindeer tribe performance

  • Thrilling ice-cube and ice-hitting games

  • Skillful ice target archery

  • Colorful winter clothing fashion contest among festival attendees

  • Energetic ice skating competition

  • Exciting horse sled race across the frozen lake. Experience the vibrant atmosphere of the festival and mingle with locals celebrating this unique winter tradition.

This day, transfer to the local airport for a flight to Ulaanbaatar. Transfer to your hotel.

🍽️ Meals in Mongolia Tours

Most of our Mongolia tour packages include full-board meals — breakfast, lunch, and dinner. In Ulaanbaatar, lunches or dinners are served at popular local restaurants, giving you the opportunity to experience genuine Mongolian cuisine and the country’s unique dining culture. At tourist ger camps, lunches and dinners are pre-arranged and include 3–4 courses — soup and/or salad, main dish, dessert, and bottled water. If your itinerary includes stops at local roadside restaurants, you’ll be able to choose meals directly from the menu. In Ulaanbaatar, a wider range of cuisines — including Korean, Japanese, and Chinese dishes — is available upon request.

Special Diets: Vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free meals are available with advance notice.

In Ulaanbaatar: You’ll stay in centrally located 4-star or 5-star hotels (for private tours) or 3-star hotels (for group tours), chosen for comfort and accessibility.

In the Countryside: During your trip, you’ll stay in Tourist Ger Camps, Mongolia’s signature accommodation. Each camp features traditional Gers (yurts) with scenic surroundings.

  • Private Tours: Most nights include ensuite tourist ger camps (private bathrooms), with a few nights at standard camps.

Winter Tours
