Itinerary

In the morning, we will take flight to Murun town, a small town of Khuvsgul province with population of 35000. Following lunch at Murun town, take a 2 hours’ drive to the Khatgal village on the shore of the lake. Upon arrival at the tourist camp, check in and have lunch. We will stay here for 2 days for full exploration around the area and there are activities like horse sledding or horse riding, visiting nomad family etc.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.

Today we’ll drive through scenic mountain ranges on our way to Jargant Lodge. The journey takes us into the remote and beautiful Darkhad Depression, a vast valley home to more than 300 lakes and many wide rivers. While most of the rivers here remain frozen for much of the year, some flow freely all year round, creating a striking and unforgettable landscape.

Accommodation: Jargant Lodge

Today we’ll drive to Tsagaan nuur village and continue to snowy Taiga to attend Reindeer Festival which will start at 11am. The Tsaatan (Reindeer) people, one of Mongolia’s most unique and remote communities. Spend the day enjoying and taking unique photos of festival activies. You will have chance to meeting reindeer herder families, hearing their stories, and learning how they have preserved their traditional way of life for generations riding reindeer.

Surrounded by snow-covered forests and the silence of the Taiga, this will be an unforgettable cultural encounter. In the evening, we will return to Jargant Lodge. Dinner and overnight at cozy tourist camp.

This morning, we will return to Murun town. On the way enjoy a scenic drive to the visit to Uushigiin Uvur deer stones. These decorated standing Stones have been found mostly in Mongolia & some Central Asian countries, dating ba ck beginning of the Bronze age and the Early Iron Age. In the evening, we will arrive in Murun town, where you’ll check into a hotel.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.

This day, transfer to the local airport for a morning flight to Ulaanbaatar. Transfer to your hotel. Dinner is at your hotel.

🍽️ Meals in Mongolia Tours

Most of our Mongolia tour packages include full-board meals — breakfast, lunch, and dinner. In Ulaanbaatar, lunches or dinners are served at popular local restaurants, giving you the opportunity to experience genuine Mongolian cuisine and the country’s unique dining culture. At tourist ger camps, lunches and dinners are pre-arranged and include 3–4 courses — soup and/or salad, main dish, dessert, and bottled water. If your itinerary includes stops at local roadside restaurants, you’ll be able to choose meals directly from the menu. In Ulaanbaatar, a wider range of cuisines — including Korean, Japanese, and Chinese dishes — is available upon request.

Special Diets: Vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free meals are available with advance notice.

In the Countryside: During your trip, you’ll stay in Tourist Ger Camps, Mongolia’s signature accommodation. Each camp features traditional Gers (yurts) with scenic surroundings.

  • Private Tours: Most nights include ensuite tourist ger camps (private bathrooms), with a few nights at standard camps.

Winter Tours
