April feels like true spring for most of the country as winter finally loosens its grip. Expect cool mornings, warmer afternoons, and occasional strong winds.

Where to Go in April in Mongolia?
Central Mongolia
Central Mongolia remains the easiest region to explore in April due to its proximity to Ulaanbaatar.
You can visit:
Note: Tourist ger camps are still closed. Accommodation options include local hotels, guesthouses, and nomadic family homestays.
Southern Mongolia (Gobi Desert)
April is not the ideal time to travel to the Gobi Desert.
If the Gobi is your priority, late April is better than early April—but still not highly recommended.
Northern & Western Mongolia
Travel to Northern, Eastern and Western Mongolia is not recommended in April.
These regions are better visited from June onward.
