If you’re looking for a short horseback riding adventure, this tour is perfect. Horses are matched to your riding experience, and you’ll explore one of Mongolia’s most popular national parks nearby Ulaanbaatar.

Itinerary

This morning at 9:00 am, your guide and driver will meet you at your hotel to begin your journey to Hustai National Park, home to the world’s last truly wild horse — the Takhi (Przewalski’s horse). Upon arrival, visit the park’s small information center to learn about its wildlife, steppe ecosystem, and conservation efforts. Then, venture into the park to spot wild Takhi horses in their natural habitat — a rare and unforgettable sight for nature lovers and photographers alike.

Afterward, visit a local nomadic family, where you’ll enjoy a lunch with nomad family and experience genuine Mongolian hospitality. Learn about their traditional way of life and connection with horses.

In the afternoon, saddle up and begin your horse trekking adventure through the vast steppe and river valleys for up to 3 hours. On the way, we will visit Ungut Mountain site, an ancient archaeological site dating back to the 6th–8th centuries AD. Afterward, return to the nomad family home and dinner.

At 8:00 am, after breakfast, depart for Terelj National Park, one of the most beautiful and easily accessible natural areas near Ulaanbaatar. Upon arrival, start exploring the park’s stunning landscapes and see Turtle Rock, the famous natural rock formation that has become the symbol of the park. You may climb the rock for a closer view or take memorable photos of the surrounding scenery.

Continue to the Ariyabal Meditation Temple, set on a hill overlooking the valley. The short hike to the temple rewards you with breathtaking panoramic views of the entire national park.

After lunch, head to the horse riding point to begin your horse trekking adventure. Ride for about 3 hours through the open valleys and forested hills of Terelj, enjoying the fresh air and peaceful rhythm of your horse while surround ed by Mongolia’s spectacular nature.

In the evening, transfer to a comfortable tourist Ger camp, beautifully located in one of the most scenic spots in the park. Enjoy dinner and overnight in a traditional Mongolian Ger, experiencing the tranquility of the countryside under a starry sky

 After relaxing lunch, we will return to Ulaanbaatar. On the way visit “Genghis Khan Statue Complex” which is currently the biggest (40m high) equestrian statue in the world. You can go inside and enjoy museums, souvenir shops. Upon arrival in Ulaanbaatar, visit Zaisan Memorial Hill which is a popular tourist attraction and one of the highlights of Ulan Baatar because of the fantastic views it offers over the city. You will be transferred to the hotel at around 5 pm.

🍽️ Meals in Mongolia Tours

Most of our Mongolia tour packages include full-board meals — breakfast, lunch, and dinner. In Ulaanbaatar, lunches or dinners are served at popular local restaurants, giving you the opportunity to experience genuine Mongolian cuisine and the country’s unique dining culture. At tourist ger camps, lunches and dinners are pre-arranged and include 3–4 courses — soup and/or salad, main dish, dessert, and bottled water. If your itinerary includes stops at local roadside restaurants, you’ll be able to choose meals directly from the menu. In Ulaanbaatar, a wider range of cuisines — including Korean, Japanese, and Chinese dishes — is available upon request.

Special Diets: Vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free meals are available with advance notice.

In the Countryside: During your trip, you’ll stay in Tourist Ger Camps, Mongolia’s signature accommodation. Each camp features traditional Gers (yurts) with scenic surroundings.

Winter Tours
