How many Eagle Festivals take place in 2024?

In Mongolia's Bayan-Ulgii province, two main Golden Eagle Festivals are held annually. Additionally, near Ulaanbaatar, Spring Eagle festivals also take place each year.

Sagsai Golden Eagle festival:

If you enjoy avoiding crowds, the Sagsai Golden Eagle Festival is a great choice! It offers fantastic sights, friendly people willing to chat and pose for photos. The competitions take place upfront, allowing you to quickly enjoy each event without long waits and capture beautiful moments effortlessly. The September festival involves roughly 40-50 Eagle hunters in competition, while the October festival witnesses the participation of approximately 80-100 Eagle hunters.

Golden Eagle Festival in October:

The biggest festival in October is arranged by the Mongolian Eagle Hunters’ Association. The October Golden Eagle Festival is the main event and draws many tourists and photographers. Due to limited space on domestic flights and in local accommodations, we recommend planning and booking your tour as soon as possible if you intend to join the festival. 

Spring Ulaanbaatar Eagle Festival:

The Golden Eagle festival takes place near Mongolia's capital, Ulaanbaatar, at the 'Chinggisiin Khuree' complex on March 3-4 each spring. Over twenty Eagle hunters, aged 15 to 80, travel from the Far West of Mongolia to participate in these competitions.
