Mini Gobi (Elsen Tasarkhai) is the perfect destination for people who do not have time to make a full trip to the Gobi Desert but who do not want to miss out on the chance to see sand dunes. Plus, you will have a unique opportunity to see the endangered Przewalski's horse. Additionally, you can learn about the traditional nomadic way of life by interacting with local herders and experiencing their hospitality firsthand during this 2 day short tour.
Itinerary
Expand allAt 9 am, your tour guide and driver will pick you up and start your trip to Mini Gobi (Elsen Tasarkhai) - the beautiful sand dunes are covered with rare bushes shrubs such as willow, elm, and dogwood, and a small forest near a river. It is very unique to see this type of ecosystem, a combination of mountains, forests, steppes, and sand dunes in one location. After lunch at the tourist camp, we will visit the camel herder family and ride a camel to explore the area. Then take short drive to Khugnu khan National Park which is the beautiful combination of sand, steppe, forests, mineral water sources, and mountains all in one location as well as rich with many diversities of fauna and flora. Dinner and overnight at Tourist camp.

This morning, drive to the Hustai National Park, where the world’s last wild horse (never domesticated), Takhi inhabit. En route, visit nomad family – experience nomadic life and enjoy tasting dairy products. Upon arrival at Hustai, visit the small Ger information center- which shows some detailed information about the last truly wild horses. After enjoying lunch at the tourist camp, take a short drive and walking to take photos of the wild horses in their natural habitat. In the evening, return to Ulaanbaatar
