Orkhon waterfall
The river is home to a variety of fish species, including pike, Siberian sturgeon, taimen, Asian common asp, and Siberian grayling. Because of its historical significance related to the Great Mongol Empire, the Orkhon River Valley was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site and has been protected as a National Park since 2006.
The best season to visit
Before planning your trip, ask your tour manager whether the waterfall has started flowing. In recent years, the waterfall doesn’t run year-round and may dry up until the first heavy summer rains. The best time to visit is in late July and August, when water levels are usually higher, and waterfall is most beautiful.
