Uvs lake
The lake covers an area of 3,350 square kilometers and is located at 759 meters above sea level. It is a shallow lake 10-20 meters deep, 84 kilometers long, and 79 kilometers wide. Located in the northeastern half of Uvs aimag, it is the largest Salt Lake in Mongolia, with no outflow. It is called a lake with 2 times less salt than sea salt.
It is a remnant of a vast salt sea that existed thousands of years ago.
38 rivers such as Tes, Nariin, Kharkhiraa, Turgen, Sagil, Borshoo, and Khondlon confluence to Uvs Lake. The lake freezes from October to May.
