Golden Whip Legend: The statue stands where Genghis Khan is believed to have found a golden whip—an auspicious sign of fortune in Mongolian tradition.
Legend
In 1177, Genghis Khan, along with his younger brothers Khasar and Belgutei, sought aid from Tooril Khan of the Khereid tribe, a close ally of their late father. As a sign of respect, they presented him with a sable robe. On their journey, Genghis Khan discovered a golden whip in the Tsonjin Boldog area. In Mongolian tradition, finding a whip is considered a powerful symbol of good fortune and success.
